Proposal


Ski Lift ride up

I have had a few people ask how Ryan asked me to marry him. I have been meaning to get around to posting this for quite some time. We went up to Park City for the day because my dad was doing a bike race up there. (That was the excuse). Ryan said that while we were up there we should go up the ski lift ride. We did that for my 18th birthday and we both really liked it. On the way up we were just goofing around and taking pictures. Then we got off at the top. We would have walked around more, but we did not really have walking shoes on and the wind was blowing quite bad. So we got back on and started heading back down.
On the way down we were talking about Park City and just random things. Then Ryan started looking at all the accessories I had on. He has spoiled me throughout the years and bought me a lot of jewelry. So we were talking about that and then he said, "well how would you like to add this to the jewelry that I have given you." He showed me the ring and I squealed. I did not even let him ask me before I squealed. I guess I just anticipated the question. Then he asked me if I would marry him.
Of course I said yes. The whole rest of the ride down I just wanted to get off and run around and scream. The ring has sentimental value to it, which I love. The middle diamond was his grandma's. Then when we were talking about marriage before he went with his mom to pick out a seating to put the diamond in. So I have his grandma's diamond and a memory that Ryan had with his mom shortly before she pasted away. It is very special to me. Thank you Ryan for being so good to me.

Engaged!

Some of you know the wonderful news, but a lot of you do not! I am engaged! Ryan asked me to marry him on the 2nd of August. I know that was awhile ago, but I have been so busy with work and everything else that I have not had time to post a blog. I know I am bad!

Here is a little history about Ryan and me:

I first met Ryan when I was 13 years old. I was camping up at Bear Lake for a scuba diving trip that my dad wanted to go to. I was heading out of the camper when I saw these two boys and of course I wanted to look good for them so I ran back in to the camper and actually got ready. I know I am a nerd. One of the guys happened to be Ryan, at the ripe old age of 15. I thought he was really cute and had a crush on him for about 2 and half years before and really talked to him. Before that it was just a hi here and there.

When I was 15 I started working at his parent's dive shop and that is when I really got to know him. I still had a HUGE crush on him and tried to get him to pay attention to me. He did a good job at making me feel good, even though I was probably really annoying. We became really good friends and would hang out almost every weekend.

When I turned 16 he asked me on my first date! I am extremely excited! We went on a dinner cruise on the Great Salt Lake. It was a lot of fun and I had a really good time, because we were such great friends. That is when our relationship first started.

We kept hanging out and then I asked him to the Harvest dance my junior year and that is when we had our first kiss; after that we were together a lot.

We dated all of the rest of my junior year and senior year. When I moved up to Utah State things got a little rough for us, because I was young and wanted to date a lot of people. We ended up breaking up after dating 2 and a half years. Even though it was my idea it was really hard because we were such great friends and he was a part of my life for so long.

We dated off and on for about 2 more years. Then I really broke his heart in April of 2005. That is when I really called it off. It was right after his mother passed away and he was going through a really hard time in his life. We did not see each other for about 2 years after that.

However, we somehow found our way back to each other again. He took me on a date up to Snow Basin Lodge and after that it was history.

He is such an awesome guy and treats me like a queen. We are great friends and we know each other really well. It has been a long and hard road for us, but we have pulled through it. I am so glad that Ryan took me back after all the heart breaks I caused him! He is very patient with me and puts up with my "dramatic" moments. He knows how to love me well and I couldn't ask for better!

Update on my life

I am finally updating my blog. This is for you Lindsey. A lot has been going on and I have not had time to do a new post. First of all today I started a new job at National Fitness. I am the accountant over three fitness clubs. I worked for National Fitness while I was in school and I loved it there. So I am happy to be back. I also sold my condo! It took so long for it to sell, but I am glad it finally sold regardless of the horrible economy. So lately I have been moving all my stuff and training new people at Flying J while getting trained at National Fitness. So life has been a little crazy. I also have been able to see many people that I do not get to see often. I went to a shower for Maryam. It was crazy to see all the girls there. I have not seen some of them for a long time. So it was exciting to catch up. Then this last Saturday I went to Kelsey's shower and was able to chat with more girls that I have not seen for awhile. It is always fun to see what everyone is up to. A couple weekends ago I went to Park City with Ashley for a little girl bonding time before she left to Pennsylvania. It was a ton of fun. We went shopping, of course, and also watched chick flicks and relaxed. It was so much fun. I am going to miss you Ash!

Then this last week I went to San Diego with Ryan to visit his dad. His dad moved there in January or so. He is right next to the bay. It was beautiful! They have perfect weather there. We got new cruiser bikes. So we rode those around. (We have went on a bike ride every day this week. My legs are getting a workout.)

We also went to the beach. Ryan brought his surf board. So he went surfing for a little bit. It was too cold for me that day. So I did not even get out of my shorts and tank top. I had a jacket on part of the time. It was quite sad.

We also went to Sea World. I have never been there. It was so so so much fun. The killer whales and the dolphins were my favorite. I felt like I was a little kid again.

We were there during Father's Day. So Ryan got to be with his dad on Father's day. It has been a few years since that has happened so they were both really excited.

There was this cool hat shop that had hundreds of styles of hats. I had so much fun in that store. I could have stayed there for hours on end.

Graduation

I officially graduated on Friday! I technically graduated in December, but I did not walk until Friday. It really made it feel like it was real. Even though I had my diploma I still did not feel graduated. So that was really cool. There were 1,100 of us graduating from the David Eccles School of Business. It was crazy to see all of those people graduate.

The next day we went to a Real Salt Lake game. We got the tickets from Jared because he work at America First. Thanks Jared! It was fun. Real played against LA Galaxy. So you know what that means. David Beckham! The game was actually good. It was 2-2. I wish it would not have been a tie, but it was still good.

American Idol


Well for all of you that watch American Idol you know that Brooke White went home tonight. I have mixed feelings about this whole thing. I really like Brooke, but I did not think she would make it to the end either. However, I have never cried watching someone leave on American Idol and I did tonight. I was sad to see her go. So it might just be easier for her to go home now. I have always been a Jason Castro fan, but he has not been wowing me like previous weeks lately. By the way I think he looks like John Travolta. I think that Syesha is a great singer too. She is not my favorite, but I think she is good. To me honest I think it will be the two Davids battling it out at the very end. They are both very good. David Cook is very cocky and arrogant. His hair also bugs me, but I try to look past that and realize that he has a good voice. I really want David Archuleta to win, but I guess we will see. I think he is very genuine and extremely talented. He has a very good voice.

LASIK

On Friday I went to get a free Lasik consultation. The two weeks prior to that consultation I was restricted to glasses. That was the longest two weeks of my life! In all actuality I think that the doctors want you to really appreciate the fact that you can see without something attached to your face, so that is why they make you wear them right before the consultations and the procedure. They say it is so your cornea is its true shape, but I don't believe them. Any of you that have ever worn glasses will understand what I am saying. They other night I fell asleep with my glasses on while watching a movie. When I woke up there was a huge indent on my nose where the glasses sat. It hurt so bad for about twenty minutes after I woke up.
So hopefully by the summer I will be glasses and contacts free and will still be able to see when I am done with the procedure. I am a little bit nervous about getting it done. I've come to the conclusion that if something goes wrong with the procedure I should be able to at least see out of one eye, since they only do one eye at a time.

Babysitting Amber's kids











I baby sat Amber and Paul's kids while they went to the temple on Thursday. It was quite interesting. I went from having no kids to having two. I became very good at muli-tasking quickly. As soon as I sat down to feed the baby his bottle James wanted water in his sippy cup. So I had to hold and feed the baby while trying to fill up James's sippy cup with water. I was probably pretty comical to watch. I decided that is why we usually only have one kid at at time to ease your way into muli-tasking. I now have extreme sympathy for women that have twins first. No really they were actually really good kids.

I have been told by many people that blogging is the way to go. So I decided that I need to get with the 21st century and start an account. It seems like a good way to stay in touch with everyone. I don't have much, but I will add more asap.
